Opry Mills Outlet Mall

If you're a country music fan. . . there is not enough space on this website to include all the places you'll want to go.
But here are a few:

Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum
222 Fifth Avenue South
Nashville, Tennessee 37203
615-416-2001
This museum is huge and fun and is really great for any music lover - it's not cheap, but it's a great activity to really see Nashville.

The Ryman Auditorium
116 Fifth Avenue North
Nashville, TN 37219
The Ryman is the original home of the Grand Ole Opry and offers tours of the historic site daily.

Bluebird Cafe
4104 Hillsboro Road
Nashville, TN
615-383-1461
Not just for country music lovers, the Bluebird has hosted many great singers and songwriters over the years, and is a fantastic location to experience great music.

If you're a history buff. . .

The Hermitage
4580 Rachel’s Lane
Nashville, TN 37076
615-889-2941
The home of President Andrew Jackson. This is a historic southern plantation where you can get a sense of what life was like in the early 1800's. Plan for 30 minutes of travel time to and from the Hermitage. It is open daily.

Belle Meade Plantation
5025 Harding Pike
Nashville, TN
615-356-0501
The plantation was famous for breeding championship race horses and includes the Belle Meade Mansion, a Greek Revival style mansion built in 1853. It is open daily.

The Parthenon at Centennial Park
Centennial Park, West End at 25th Ave., N, Nashville, TN 37203
615-862-8431
Speaking of Greek, there is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens in the middle of Centennial Park in Nashville. The structure itself is quite a sight, but if you venture inside, you'll find an art gallery, including a 42-foot statue of Athena, as it was in the original Parthenon. Spend some time in the park as well- you can rent paddleboats on the pond and feed the ducks. Open Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00 - 4:30.

If you're an art lover . . .

Frist Center for the Visual Arts
919 Broadway
Nashville, TN 37203
615-244-3340
Opened in 2001 in what used the be the downtown post office, the Frist is a wonderful space for art, with over 24,000 square feet of gallery space. They always have fantastic exhibitions, and it stands next to Union Station, an architectural beauty that used to be the main downtown train station, and is now a luxury hotel. Open daily.

Cheekwood Mansion and Botanical Gardens
1200 Forrest Park Drive
Nashville, TN 37205
615-346-8000
In addition to being the venue of the wedding and reception, Cheekwood is a wonderful destination for anyone who loves art or beautiful gardens. The mansion houses a great art gallery, you can wander around the botanical gardens and the gorgeous property, and there is also a mile-long sculpture trail to please both the art and nature lovers. If you go on Friday or Saturday, you may even get a glimpse of the wedding preparations! Open Tuesday - Sunday.

Historic Downtown Franklin
Just south of Brentwood, downtown Franklin is a great place to see historic architecture and shop in a great mixture of unique shops. Take Franklin Road south all the way into town.

Downtown Nashville
There is a lot to do in dowtown Nashville, from wandering around 2nd Avenue, to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman, and Painter's Alley. But beware, the Music City Marathon is taking place on the Saturday of the wedding, so it may be very crowded and parking will probably be a major issue.

Radnor Lake
If you like to hike, run, or walk, do yourself a favor and visit Radnor Lake. This is Lindsey's favorite place in Nashville. You can either walk around the lake on the paved road, or you can hike on one of several trails through the hills. It's incredibly relaxing and serene. Take Maryland Way west to Granny White Pike. Turn right on Granny White, and 2 miles later, turn right onto Otter Creek Drive, and the parking lot will be on your left.
